Cross formed by human hands

Just as God has joined us to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in baptism, we are also joined to others, not only in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC) and The Lutheran World Federation (LWF), but in all communities of Christian faith around the world.

We value unity and diversity within the Christian faith, and we seek to embody this through respect and honor for the diverse histories, traditions, cultures, languages, and experiences of different groups within the church. The OSLC community also recognizes a need to address and combat systems of injustice, in order to promote full participation and reconciliation within the body of Christ. The community looks to God's mercy and forgiveness as a source of strength and guidance in these efforts.
