Henry White

Henry is an ambassador for Compassion Canada.

Music captivates the mind and touches the heart like nothing else. That’s why Compassion partners with a diverse group of musicians and speakers—we call them our ambassadors—who use their time and talents to bless congregations across Canada in their worship gatherings.

Using their gifts to connect the head and heart in praise to God, Compassion ambassadors will open the eyes of your congregation to the realities of poverty and invite them to take action by sponsoring with Compassion.

Take Action With Compassion

This week we feature guest speaker Henry White. Henry is an ambassador for Compassion Canada.

Our congregation has a bit of history with this organization. Several members of Our Savior Lutheran have supported with sponsorship and donations. We remember especially Diane, a faithful member of OSLC who had a heart for the ministry of Compassion Canada and was an active supporter. Rest in peace Diane.

Gospel Reading Mark 1:9-15

The Baptism and Testing of Jesus

At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

12 At once the Spirit sent him out into the wilderness, 13 and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.

Jesus Announces the Good News

14 After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 15 “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
