Frequently Asked Questions
What is it like?
When you come to Our Savior Lutheran Church you will worship in a form that is a blend of traditional and modern styles.
We usually have a pre-worship "Hymn Sing" where our musicians lead us in songs that range from familiar hymns to contemporary and traditional gospel music. Our formal worship follows and we often start by watching a short video together - something that has been selected to fit with the readings and lessons for that particular Sunday. This is usually followed by a "Gathering Song" and a "Thanksgiving for Baptism" or an observance of "Confession and Forgiveness". Then we sit down and listen to sections of the Bible read out loud, followed by a time of reflection on what they mean for our lives today (the Sermon). There are prayers for the world and all those in need. On most Sundays we eat a symbolic meal (Communion) that reminds us of our essential unity with God, with each other, and with all of God's creation. We conclude with a song and words that remind us to go out into the world and try to make it a little better place.
What about my kids?
Worship and most other activities at OSLC are for people of all ages. Your kids are welcome to participate.
Our Sunday worship includes a "Kids Korner" at the beginning of each service and activity packs are available – please ask our Ushers where you can find them.
Where do I park?
We have a large parking lot that you can enter off of 62B Avenue NW (see on Google Maps).
What about public transit?
There is a bus stop near the corner of 62B Avenue and 184 Street - just a few steps from our church property.
Is the church wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Our building is all on one floor. And if you need it we have reserved parking spots right at the main entrance of our church building.
What is the coffee policy :-) ?
Coffee consumption is strictly limited - only available before, during, and after worship! (And the same strict policy applies to tea, of course!)
How can I get connected?
